Trials and tribulations

Hello all...
Wow! What a day! Some confusion at the end (mostly my fault) but a good day overall. Congrats to those of you who presented your speeches today, the majority were very well done.
Homework for today
Science

  • Night Sky observations - 3 due Monday. Remember to write down what you see, even on the cloudy days. Use the example given as your guide.
  • Sun questions - due tomorrow
  • Drawing of what it would look like on the sun's surface.
Math
  • Volume problems worksheet - due tomorrow
Social Studies
  • Watch for China in the News
  • Be prepared to explain the 3 basic needs and give an example of each

Half way there...

Hello all...
Students and parents should be aware of two upcoming activites for GPMS grade 6 students. The first is an Astronomy evening on February 3 and the second is the grade 6 incentive activity on February 11. More information about both of these events will be sent home in the next week.

Hello all...
Wow...we covered a lot of ground today. Tonight would be a great time to have a look over your notes, etc. for review. You will find that you retain more information that way.
Homework for today
Math

  • Perimeter, Area, Volume Unit Test - Tomorrow
  • You may bring in the card I gave you with the formulas written on it. Make sure you also have your pencil, calculator, ruler and eraser.
Social Studies
  • China in the News - ongoing
  • Chapter 3 questions are due Thursday. Those of you who have not completed them yet must make arrangements to come in over a lunch period or after school to work on them. The textbooks may not be taken home.
Language Arts
  • Journal Entry - What would you do if you didn't have a television? Write on this or the topic of your choosing.
  • Persuasive Speech - Present to class tomorrow. Make sure you have all of the items we discussed today for full marks.
Science
  • Night Sky observations - 3 due Monday, January 31. Make reference to the constellations you can see using your star finder.
Health
